WordPress Maintenance Albury

Backups, updates and security so your site keeps working

WordPress maintenance in Albury is a bit like servicing the ute. Skip it for long enough and something eventually gives. My plans keep Border business websites updated, backed up and checked for security problems, starting at $19 a month.

Why WordPress Needs Regular Care

A website is never really finished

WordPress powers a huge share of the web, which is exactly why it gets so much attention from people looking for weak spots. The core software, your theme and every plugin release updates regularly to fix bugs and close security holes.

When those updates are skipped, the gaps stay open. Most of the hacked sites I clean up were not targeted personally. They were found by automated scripts that scan the internet for old plugins. They had simply been left alone for a year or two.

Updates can also clash with each other. A plugin update might break your contact form or change the layout on mobile. That is why I take a backup first, run the updates, then check the site still works properly.

What Happens When Sites Are Left Alone

Problems I see on neglected WordPress sites

Hacks and spam

Old plugins get exploited and the site starts sending visitors to scam pages or filling up with junk links.

Google warnings

Once malware is found, Google can show a red warning screen that stops most people clicking through.

Broken forms

A contact form quietly stops sending and enquiries vanish without anyone noticing for weeks.

Slow pages

Bloated databases and outdated software make the site crawl, especially on phones.

No usable backup

Something breaks and the only backup is two years old. Sometimes there is none at all.

Hosting suspension

Some hosts switch off infected sites to protect their other customers, taking your email with it.

Which Plan Suits Your Business

A rough guide for Border businesses

If your site is a simple brochure that rarely changes and most of your work comes by word of mouth, Basic covers the essentials. You get monthly backups, monthly updates and a short report so you know it was done.

Essentials suits businesses that get regular enquiries through the site, where losing a few weeks of changes would hurt. The extra backups and security scan give more protection.

Business is the plan I recommend for most tradies, health practices and shops around Albury Wodonga who rely on their website for steady work. Daily backups mean very little is ever lost, uptime monitoring tells me if the site drops out and hack recovery is included rather than billed separately.

Elite adds daily scans, rank tracking and Cloudflare, which suits busier sites or businesses also investing in SEO who want to watch their rankings alongside site health.

Sites Built by Someone Else

I can look after existing WordPress sites too

You do not need to have had your site built by me. Plenty of Albury and Wodonga businesses have a WordPress site from a developer who has moved on or stopped replying. I can take over the maintenance as long as I can get admin access and hosting details.

Before starting I do a quick check of the site to see how far behind it is. Sites that have gone years without updates sometimes need a bit of catch up work first, which I quote before doing anything. After that it moves onto a normal monthly plan.

WordPress Maintenance Questions

What Border businesses ask about site care

Who does WordPress maintenance in Albury?

Website Design Albury provides WordPress maintenance for small businesses in Albury and Wodonga, run by Nick Fritzkowski. Plans start at $19 a month including GST and cover backups, core, plugin and theme updates and reporting. Higher plans add security scans, uptime monitoring and hack recovery. All plans are month to month.

WordPress maintenance in Albury Wodonga costs from $19 a month with Website Design Albury, including GST. Essentials is $59 a month, Business is $99 a month and Elite is $189 a month. Each step up adds more frequent backups, updates and security checks. There is no lock in, just 30 days notice.

A WordPress site for a Wodonga business should be updated at least monthly. Weekly is safer for sites that bring in regular enquiries. Plugins and themes release security fixes often. Leaving them for months is the most common way sites get hacked. The Business plan runs weekly updates with daily backups.

Nick can maintain a WordPress site for an Albury business even if another developer built it. He needs admin access and the hosting details, then runs a quick health check. If the site is well behind on updates, catch up work is quoted first before it moves onto a monthly plan.

Hack recovery is included in the Business and Elite WordPress maintenance plans for Border businesses. If a site on those plans is hacked, Nick cleans it up and restores it without a separate bill. On Basic and Essentials, cleanup is quoted separately, as explained on the hacked website repair page.

Every new website built by Website Design Albury includes the first year of WordPress maintenance free. After that year you can choose any of the four plans or cancel with 30 days notice. You still own the site and have full access to it whichever option you choose.

If an update breaks an Albury business website on one of Nick’s plans, he rolls it back using the backup taken before the update ran. He then finds which plugin or theme caused the clash and fixes it. Backups taken right before updating are the reason maintenance is safer than updating blindly.
